Pam’s Pie Competition & Bake Sale

2024

A 17-year Art on the Avenue tradition in memory of our dear friend Pam Fitzgerald.

Do you love baking or just have a sweet tooth? Whether you’re a kid or an adult, Pam’s Pie Contest & Bake Sale is your chance to showcase your pie-making skills, donate pies, or simply savor some delicious slices — all while supporting a great cause!

Proceeds from this year’s sales will go to the
Alexandria Domestic Violence Safehouse.

Three Ways to Participate:

1) Enter the Contest (rules & form below)

Bake a pie and compete for the top prize! Simply bring your pie to the Pie Booth between 9:00–11:30 am on the day of the festival. Judging starts at noon, and winners will be announced around 2 pm on the festival’s main stage. Prizes are awarded for both kids and adult categories.

2) Donate a Pie

Feeling more generous than competitive? Donate a pie (or two!) and help raise funds for Alexandria Domestic Violence Safehouse. Pies can be dropped off at the pie booth any time before noon.

3) Enjoy a Slice

Stop by the Pie Booth to buy a slice and contribute to a great cause. Every bite supports locals in need.

How to Participate in the Contest

  • Kids and adults can register online or in-person.

  • Bake your best shelf-stable pie(s) in an 8”–10” disposable pan. (Sorry, we are unable to accept pies needing refrigeration such as merengue, cream, custard, or pumpkin pies.)
